#17 - 1972 Turquoise Chevy Truck

Building these 62-72 C10’s became a passion of mine. It kept me busy & out of trouble, but this one was one of my favorites. Taos Turquoise, slammed to the ground, healthy 377 Cubic Inch Small Block w/ a Muncie 4 Speed. This thing was beautiful, bad ass & made the sweetest noise you ever heard, “Chicks Loved It” & the law loved to chase it. You could imagine after watching every episode of Dukes of Hazard multiple time’s growing up what that would do to a young man like myself. All I wanted to do was blow shit up, get laid & run from the law lol. I remember leaving Randy’s late one spring night & shutting down my lights to run a stop sign. The next thing I saw was cherries and berries so, I left the lights off & held her down. You could hear it for miles. I made the turn down our street & slid into my uncle’s driveway. My brother was there to greet me by opening the gate then closing it behind me. I asked him how he knew, he said I could hear you comin with my bedroom windows open. As we walked in the house, we saw the sheriff on the street behind us, he missed his chance. The next morning my uncle asked if I had trouble w/ the law, I laughed & said why…? He said, “well they sure spotlighted the shit out of my house last night”. Another trip, I was coming home from the mountains after partying one morning, taking corners like Ken Block in his new truck, scaring the shit out of my friends. One of them thought it would be a good idea to turn the key off at over 100 MPH, when I turned it back on it blew both of my mufflers clean off. Then hanging out in Queen Creek one night waiting for a fight to break out between Gilbert & Queen Creek, the law caught wind of it & three sheriffs came from three different directions at a four way stop & ran into each other. They really were like Rosco & Ennis from Dukes of Hazzard. Turned out to be a pretty efficient way to break up a fight. I eventually sold it after getting into four wheeling, sure miss her!
