#6 - 1969 Ford Fairlane 500
This was my very first car. I was fifteen years old when I got it. Working all summer, slinging block, and doing masonry just so I could afford to get my car running. I never realized how cool of a car it was. I spent what I would call my whole life being grounded for bad grades, fighting and I’m sure you can imagine everything else lol. Now that I look back, I was a pretty dramatic bitch, but this car was going to be my freedom. As soon as I had enough money, we filled her up and headed out of town. We had a good time in the mountains, but my clothes were dirty and I needed more money…we headed home after being gone for a weekend. My mom was pretty upset and said she was calling my dad, I wasn’t worried and proceeded to take a shower. After that I was ready to head out on another adventure, but my car wouldn’t start. I opened my hood and saw that my mom took the hedge trimmers to my brand new accel spark plug wires. I was furious, my dad told her to pull the coil wire and she didn’t know which one, so she cut them all. It wasn’t funny then but it sure gives us something to laugh about now. Another time my brother Nick decided to take it for a little joy ride while I was gone. When I got back the garage door was slammed into my windshield and all broke. He said it fell on it and I believed him until some friends ratted him out. They said he took out a mailbox down the street while he was driving it…he was as rotten as I was! We were pretty badass and tough as shit after all the beatings we got from mom and dad, not to mention beating the shit out of each other. I wouldn’t change a thing, it’s what made us who we are, and I love them all. I ended up selling it, then got it back and traded it for my first truck. A long bed 71’ Chevy Six Banger & Three on the Tree.
