Campbell Ent has been building game changing cutting edge machines that would change the future of four wheeling as we know it. So, instead of dwelling on the present we thought you would like to jump into our time machine and relive the wild rides we’ve created. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did so buckle up and follow along as we share. Pinky was one of our favs. Not the first jeep we built but probably the most memorable in its time. Changing trail riding & rockcrawling as we know it. Raced in Whiplash Desert Racing series, Tough truck comps and Monster Jam. She was not half assed and pretty much won everything we entered her in. Pinky really wasn’t a jeep it was all handmade. The body was constructed of 1/2” box tubing, 0.30 aluminum riveted together and 1 ¾” 1.20 wall steel tubing. The running gear was a small block 350, Turbo 350 transmission, Dana 300 transfer case, ½ ton Chevrolet 10 bolt axles using custom wrangler leaf packs in the front with ¼ elliptic rear suspension designed by the man that taught me everything Don Campbell “my dad”. This is where making chicken salad out of chicken shit comes from. The approximate cost was $2800.00. Everything was from the junk yard and we rebuilt all of it ourselves. She was a beauty and drove like a dream, even street legal. Some of my most memorable moments were showing up to our first desert race with my dad, the Rockypoint 250. They made us race class 8 and the guy that started behind me said, “How do you want it? In the ass or do you want the horn?” I didn’t understand him. My dad said, “Give us the horn or I’ll kick your ass!” Needless to say we won. At Monster Jam this guy named Pete Sohren laughed in my face and asked why I brought a piece of shit. I didn’t have any words other than its all I got. We won. Another memorable time was passing Ivan Stewart in his pro truck at Firebird Raceway doing a news clip for channel 3 morning news. He was pissed! But the best was the time building it & using it with family and friends. Mike Flores aka the Mexican said it was the best rental ever. Pinky was sold in 2002, shortly after my dad lost his leg.
